What is the job about?

Grundfos is seeking a Senior Key Account Manager for our Industry team. Your main responsibility will be to enhance end user engagement in the Food & Beverage vertical by developing comprehensive commercial knowledge of this sector globally. You will handle specific key accounts strategically to facilitate effective implementation and significantly impact end user engagement within this vertical across IND Global.

This role is remote and can be based anywhere in the Midwestern United States, preferably in the Chicago Metropolitan area.

Your main responsibilities:
  • Develop and contribute to key account strategies, including industry trend analysis, target screening, and value proposition development for the vertical.
  • Grow and develop selected global Key Accounts, executing strategies and action plans to achieve collaboration and commercial impact.
  • Collaborate with the matrix sales organization to focus on both HQ and local levels, ensuring high customer satisfaction and internal coordination.
  • Proactively follow up, analyze, and report on Key Accounts, maintaining regular dialogues.
  • Build knowledge to drive strategic conversations and value selling, positioning Grundfos as a knowledgeable partner.
  • Lead yearly negotiations with Key Accounts.
  • Monitor and report on pipeline, order intake, sales, and profitability across global accounts.
  • Maintain a high-quality opportunity pipeline and hit rate.
  • Share knowledge within the team and develop personal competencies.
  • Collaborate internally to promote a customer-centric and collaborative culture.
Your background:

You should have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a related field; a combined engineering and commercial background is beneficial.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar role within a large international company.
  • Understanding of Food & Beverage industry trends and processes.
  • Experience in B2B with end users.
  • Proactiveness and leadership abilities.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Strategic and tactical thinking skills.
  • Advanced negotiation skills.
  • Excellent communication skills; bilingual capability is a plus.
  • Proven stakeholder management skills across borders and levels.
  • Experience in a matrix organization.
  • Good analytical skills and ability to structure learnings.
  • Experience with CRM and MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Willingness and ability to travel locally and internationally (about 25%).
