Qualifications

Must have two years of experience in corrections, law enforcement, criminal justice, or related field.
Substitution rules allow an Associate's or Bachelor's degree to substitute for experience.

Responsibilities

Supervises institutional operations and a shift in absence of Shift Captain.
Co-leads group counseling sessions for juveniles.
Monitors activities of DJJ juveniles and handles disciplinary issues.
Provides guidance and informal counseling to officers and ensures youth awareness of rights and procedures.
Transports juveniles as needed and assists with facility maintenance.
Attends staff meetings, case conferences and trainings.
Participates in physical activities to assist youth with projects.
