Job summary

The Kentucky Department of Juvenile Justice, part of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, seeks a full-time supervisor to oversee staff and juveniles in a secure facility. Responsibilities include security duties, incident reporting, and supporting youth in rehabilitation and group counseling contexts.

Requirements include a high school diploma and at least one year of related experience. A DJJ Training Academy or equivalent may substitute for experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• One year of experience in corrections, law enforcement, criminal justice, or supervision of youth in related settings.
• Substitutions: 6 months for an Associate's degree; 1 year for a Bachelor’s degree; DJJ training academy may substitute for experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervise staff and inmates in a specialized program or detail.
• Perform custodial security functions and monitor juvenile activities.
• Maintain shift logs, complete incident reports, and assist youth with case procedures.
• Provide support for safety, training, and group counseling sessions.
• Transport juveniles to off-campus activities as needed.
