Job summary

D2 Technical Services is seeking a seasoned Network Engineer with active TS/SCI clearance to support network infrastructure across multiple sites. You will design, implement, and sustain WAN/LAN environments, coordinate maintenance, and contribute to enterprise network solutions to meet mission goals.

The role requires deep experience with high-availability networks, DoD guidelines, Juniper devices, and network security. Occasional travel to CONUS/OCONUS sites may be required.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of related technical experience in Network and Transport technologies.
• 4+ years in large-scale enterprise/global networks.
• Experience with DoD Architecture Framework and DoD network guidance.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate maintenance, monitoring, and installation of WAN/LAN environments.
• Develop and maintain road map for capabilities, operations, and technologies.
• Assist with testing plans and documentation for network upgrades.
• Support traffic analysis and bandwidth optimization to meet performance objectives.
• Evaluate and report on new/emerging network technologies to improve capacity and reliability.

Job description

ACTIVE TS/SCI SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED

Responsibilities

• Focus will be on Network Engineering, new project requirements, and operation and sustainment of existing infrastructure. This position does require travel to local sites up to 15% and may require travel to further CONUS/OCONUS locations on a voluntary basis.
• Coordination of system maintenance, monitoring and installation of multiple WAN/LAN environments encompassing multiple specializations, platforms and technologies.
• Assist with research and implementation of enterprise system-wide network solutions/capabilities/enhancements to support customer business/mission goals and objectives.
• Troubleshoot and resolve network media and components.
• Evaluate and monitor health and performance of the network including hardware and management software.
• Develop and maintain a road map for capabilities, operations, and technologies.
• Assist with development and execution of test plans and supporting documentation of all network configuration upgrades, additions or revisions for customer approval before implementation.
• Support network traffic analysis and bandwidth optimization efforts to ensure attainment of performance and availability objectives.
• Evaluate and report on new/emerging network/communication technologies to enhance capacity, performance and reliability of the network.
• Evaluate and recommend changes and/or technology upgrades to address performance, standardization and industry best practices
• Follows all Customer network security processes and procedures, ensures compliance with all Government policies.
• Represent customer requirements in technical exchanges with other government agencies.
• Perform site surveys to new installations and technology refresh.
• Installs, maintains and troubleshoots satellite communications equipment.
• Develop and maintain network architecture diagrams.

Qualifications

Required

• Security Clearance: active TS/SCI
• 8+ years related technical experience in Network and Transport technologies, tools, and techniques
• 4+ years' experience with large-scale enterprise/global networks in a high paced diverse environment
• Understanding and experience with the DoD Architecture Framework and other key DoD network architecture and strategic planning instructions
• Experience with Juniper, switches, routers, and firewalls. (MX, EX, QFX, SRX devices) Cryptographic devices (KG-175G/F/X, KG-142)
• Experience with Network analysis tools (Network monitoring, AAA solutions, security analysis tools, etc... )
• Experience with supporting IP services to connect to NIPRNET, SIPRNET, JWICS, and other external environments
• Experience with switching/LAN/L2 technologies, OSPF, BGP, MPLS, RSVP/LDP L2/3VPNs, VRFs, IKE/IPSec, GRE tunnels, MTU/MSS, Import/Export policies, IPv4, IKE/IPSEC, Multicast, COS/QOS, SNMP, SYSLOG, AAA, etc...
• Experience with planning hardware for a new site installation or recap effort of existing equipment, planning projects, drafting network diagrams, drafting engineering configurations
• Experience with troubleshooting network environments and providing regular updates
• Certifications: IAT II

Desired

• JNCIA, JNCIS, JNCIP, CISCO CCNP, CCVP, CCNA or CCDP (or equivalent)
• ITIL v3 Foundations
• ISC2 CISSP
• Experience with integrating multi-vendor cloud environments
• Experience with network automation via Python/PYEZ or Ansible
• Experience with Open-Text Network Automation, Network Node Manager, ScienceLogic SL1, Forward Networks, Cisco ISE, Aruba Clearpass, Juniper Route Director, Juniper Security Appliance, Riverbed, Infoblox & NetTerrain

Compensation

Compensation is unique to each candidate and relative to the skills and experience they bring to the position. The salary range for this position is typically $135-$145k.
