Job summary

Gwinnett County Public Schools seeks an experienced JROTC Senior Instructor (Air Force) for Grades 9-12. You will lead and conduct the JROTC program, deliver quality instruction, mentor cadets, and ensure alignment with GCPS and service guidelines.

Responsibilities include developing annual training plans, supervising cadet activities, planning events (drill, Raider meets, academies), maintaining records, and supporting leadership development in a dynamic school environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in related field required.
• Master's Degree in related field preferred.
• Must hold or be eligible for a permit issued by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission.
• Must be properly certified by applicable branch of military service.
• Must be a retired officer with a minimum of 20 years active duty.

Responsibilities

• Lead and conduct the JROTC program in accordance with service and GCPS regulations.
• Demonstrate quality classroom instruction aligned with AKS and service expectations.
• Teach, guide, and mentor cadets in curriculum provided by GCPS and service branches.
• Participate in district professional development to improve teaching effectiveness.
• Accomplish school tasks, attend staff meetings, and participate in committees.
• Deliver lessons for all curriculum elements and use QPTS strategies.
• Assess cadet performance and maintain grade books.
• Meet continuing education requirements of state, GCPS, and service.
• Prepare annual training plans and supervise student records and logistics.
• Plan and resource extracurricular cadet activities and events.
• Coordinate cadet events such as drill competitions, Raider meets, and social events.
• Supervise cadets during instruction and extracurricular activities.
