Job summary

Kauai Mechanical, Inc. is seeking a Journeyman Service Technician to join our growing Service Department on Kauai. You will diagnose and repair HVAC, commercial refrigeration, and control systems, and help lead larger repairs with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• High school Diploma or equivalent required.
• 5+ years HVAC related experience.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to relate with a variety of personality types.
• Attention to detail and the ability to complete work to a deadline.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Good organizational and time management skills to handle multiple issues.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair HVAC problems, including component installation and replacement.
• The ability to perform preventative maintenance on HVAC and Commercial Refrigeration Systems as needed.
• Identify and isolate problems clearly communicating what is needed to come to a resolution.
• Estimate costs of installation, repairs, and services to customers.
• Read and apply electrical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, and wiring diagrams.
• Ability to talk confidently with the customer, acting as a liaison between the customer and office.
• Perform work with a focus on Safety and Quality.
• Responsible for maintaining a clean and organized job site. Must leave customer jobsite cleaner than it was at arrival.
• Able to maintain a clean and organized work vehicle.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used within the company CRM.
• Able to take the lead on larger repairs and jobsites that require more than one technician.
• Take responsibility for safety performance and program compliance.
