Job summary

Amphenol Communications Solutions (ACS), a division of Amphenol Corporation, seeks a Senior Development Engineer – Advanced Joint and Bonding to lead selection, development and implementation of joining technologies for multi-material interconnects, including foils and overwrap systems, in high-speed product environments.

You will evaluate joining methods such as ultrasonic and laser welding, thermal bonding, induction sealing and mechanical joining; perform DOE and reliability tests, and

Qualifications

• Master's or Ph.D. in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in joining technologies or multi-material assembly.
• Hands-on with ultrasonic, laser, thermal bonding, induction sealing and mechanical joining.

Responsibilities

• As Sr. Engineer, own selection, development and implementation of joining technologies for multi-material interconnects.
• Identify, evaluate and select optimal joining solutions using ultrasonic, laser, thermal bonding, induction sealing or mechanical joining.
• Lead trade studies and data-driven decisions on performance, reliability, manufacturability, and cost.
• Own system-level interface performance; conduct root-cause analysis of joint failures; run validation programs (DOE, thermal cycling, aging).
• Translate joining concepts into scalable manufacturing processes with process windows and bonding parameters.
• Collaborate with suppliers, manufacturing, and cross-functional teams for production readiness.
