Actalent seeks an experienced Job Captain to lead architectural documentation for commercial and industrial projects. You will draft plans, coordinate with consultants, and supervise junior designers to ensure high-quality construction documents in line with firm standards.

The role emphasizes Revit and AutoCAD proficiency, strong coordination, and timely delivery across multiple projects in a hybrid office environment in Phoenix, AZ.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in architecture or related field.
• Approximately 8 years of experience as a Job Captain or Architectural Designer.
• Experience on commercial or industrial projects (manufacturing, clean rooms, food & beverage) as well as retail, hospitality and offices.
• Strong drafting and construction document preparation skills.
• Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD for design and documentation.
• Experience with RFIs, shop drawings, and contract administration tasks.
• Ability to supervise and mentor Architectural Designers.
• Strong coordination with consultants and multidisciplinary teams.
• Clear communication with project teams and clients.

Responsibilities

• Design, plan, and draft structures in line with firm standards.
• Develop proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD to produce documents.
• Prepare comprehensive project documents ensuring accuracy and consistency across drawing sets.
• Create preliminary drawing sets to establish sheet organization.
• Research and apply standard details for each project scope.
• Produce coordinated drawings requiring minimal corrections.
• Meet deadlines and communicate delays to project leadership.
• Supervise and mentor Architectural Designers with clear feedback.
• Coordinate with consultants to minimize rework and ensure alignment.
• Occasionally participate in client design meetings and document meeting minutes.

Education

Bachelor of Science in Architecture or related field
