Anschutz Exploration is seeking a seasoned oil and gas accounting professional to manage JIB close, overhead accounting, journal entries, and reconciliations from our Denver office. You will bill OEE insurance, manage AFE reclasses, support audits, and collaborate with Operations, Land, and Financial Reporting to resolve discrepancies while driving process improvements in a fast-paced environment.

The role offers a starting salary between $100,000 and $110,000 with comprehensive benefits

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in oil and gas accounting
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and analytical skills
• Self-starting, detailed, results-oriented team player
• Strong organizational skills with significant attention to detail and accuracy
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word; W Energy is a plus
• Ability to prioritize assignments, manage interruptions, meet deadlines, and adapt in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment

Responsabilités

• Execute monthly Joint Interest Billing (JIB) close process
• Bill out OEE (Operating Expense and Equipment) insurance costs
• Overhead accounting for drilling, completion, and major construction projects
• Create and upload journal entries including payroll, correcting, and reclassification entries
• Enter and apply cash receipts
• Perform monthly account reconciliations
• Update allocation groups and cost centers
• Handle the AFE (Authorization for Expenditure) reclass process
• Process and document material transfers across field and vendor locations
• Assist with joint interest partner audits and respond to audit inquiries
• Prepare and post quarterly Asset Retirement Obligation (ARO) entries
• Perform physical inventory counts at field and vendor sites
• Support interim and year-end financial audit processes with documentation and reconciliations
• Collaborate with Operations, Land, and Financial Reporting departments to resolve discrepancies
• Identify and recommend process improvements in accounting workflows
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and company accounting policies
• Maintain accurate and complete documentation to support journal entries and account balances
• Lead special projects as required.
