Our client, a growing upstream oil & gas company, is seeking a Senior Joint Interest Billing (JIB) and Revenue Accountant. This position will play a critical role in the month-end close process, owner reporting, cash call management, revenue distribution, and cross-functional collaboration with Land, Operations, and Accounting teams.

Key Responsibilities

Revenue & JIB Accounting

• Lead the month-end Revenue and Joint Interest Billing (JIB) close process.


• Prepare and distribute JIB statements for operated and non-operated properties.


• Record and maintain well revenue and non-operated JIB transactions.


• Ensure accurate revenue allocations and ownership distributions.

Owner Relations & Reporting

• Manage owner statement processing and distribution.


• Research and resolve owner and partner inquiries.


• Prepare monthly management reports and operational accounting analyses.


• Support transparency and accuracy in partner reporting.

Joint Interest Accounting & Cash Calls

• Manage JIB accounts receivable balances and aging reports.


• Prepare and issue cash call invoices to partners.


• Review and analyze non-operated JIBs and cash calls.


• Monitor collections and resolve outstanding receivable issues.

Deck Maintenance & Data Integrity

• Maintain revenue and ownership decks in partnership with Land and Operations teams.


• Ensure accurate setup and ongoing maintenance of ownership interests.


• Verify proper coding and allocation of revenue and expenses.

Audit & Process Improvement

• Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation.


• Assist with external audits and special projects.


• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting, and efficiency.


• Leverage technology and automation tools to enhance workflows.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.


• 3+ years of oil & gas accounting experience.


• Strong experience in:
