Job summary

Cloud and Things is seeking a Senior Java Developer in Albany, NY to modernize the CSMS with Spring Boot microservices, REST APIs, and cloud-native solutions. The role emphasizes scalable, secure services and collaboration with architects and analysts in a hybrid on-site environment.

You will design and implement batch processing, data access via PostgreSQL, and inter-service communication. Mentoring, testing, and CI/CD improvements are key duties.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of Java development experience, incl. Java 21 features (records, sealed classes, pattern matching, virtual threads).
• 1+ years in design/build of microservices, API gateway, service discovery, distributed config.
• 7+ years with Spring Boot ecosystem (Spring MVC/Data/Security/Cloud).
• Experience with AWS services (EC2, ECS/EKS, RDS, S3, SQS, Lambda).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Spring Boot microservices with well-defined APIs.
• Build and deploy loosely coupled, independently deployable services.
• Develop RESTful APIs and Spring Batch jobs for data processing.
• Implement data access with Hibernate/JPA against PostgreSQL.
• Collaborate with architects and analysts; participate in code reviews and mentoring.
• Contribute to CI/CD and deployment automation; write tests; support integration with external systems.
