Job summary

Radix Metasystems seeks a Senior Software Engineer to support mission-critical satellite ground systems. You will develop Java Spring Boot microservices for planning and scheduling, delivering scalable backend services with secure deployment in a classified environment.

You will collaborate with systems engineers to translate mission needs into technical solutions, contribute to DevOps activities, and participate in reviews and audits. Strong Java, Spring Boot, and Linux experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline or equivalent work experience
• Minimum 16+ years of software development experience, AI experience preferred
• Strong expertise with Java and Spring Boot
• Experience building backend services and RESTful APIs
• Familiarity with Linux-based development environments
• Experience with Git-based version control and CI/CD workflows (GitLab preferred)
• Working knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases
• Ability to design, deploy and maintain complex software systems
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to collaborate with engineers, systems teams, and leadership

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Java Spring Boot microservices for satellite ground planning and scheduling
• Implement RESTful APIs and backend services aligned with system architecture
• Collaborate with systems engineers to translate mission needs into technical solutions
• Support integration and test activities, including debugging and defect resolution
• Participate in code reviews and software audits
• Develop and maintain system interfaces (internal/external)
• Contribute to DevOps tasks: GitLab repo management, CI/CD pipelines, container deployments, environment configuration
• Follow secure software development practices in a classified environment
