Job summary

Capgemini is seeking a Senior Java Spark Developer to help modernize Citi's data processing platforms. You will design and implement scalable Java/Spark solutions, translate requirements, and mentor juniors in a collaborative, Agile environment.

The role is based in Tampa, FL, with a focus on performance, reliability and maintainability, and offers a permanent contract with potential bonuses and compensation in the posted range.

Qualifications

• 7 years of hands-on Java and Spark Big Data development.
• Strong foundation in OOP, design patterns and clean coding.
• Proven experience building and optimizing large-scale distributed data processing systems.
• Experience with REST APIs, RDBMS and Kafka or similar messaging systems.
• Exposure to microservices and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) preferred.
• Experience in Databricks is preferred.
• Familiarity with AI-powered solutions is a plus.
• Experience in Agile environments with collaborative ownership mindset.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable high-performance applications using Java and Apache Spark.
• Translate business requirements into clean, efficient, and reliable solutions.
• Write modular, testable code following OOP principles and design patterns.
• Continuously refactor and optimize applications for performance and maintainability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex data processing and performance issues.
• Perform and participate in code reviews to promote engineering best practices.
• Collaborate with architects, product owners, DevOps and Agile teams for high-quality delivery.
• Mentor junior developers and contribute to a culture of craftsmanship and continuous improvement.
