Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Software Engineer/Principal Software Engineer with strong Java experience to design, develop, and maintain mission‑critical software systems supporting NASIC at Wright‑Patterson AFB.

The ideal candidate communicates well, works with cross‑functional teams, and can operate in a SCIF. Security clearances required (TS/SCI) and willingness to travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 2 years software development experience.
Master’s degree in a STEM discipline with 3 years’ experience.
Active TS/SCI security clearance.
Active CI Polygraph.
Minimum of three years’ experience in Java development.
Experience with OO design, data structures, and algorithms.
Ability to work in a SCIF and follow security procedures.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and maintain Java-based software applications for NASIC mission systems.
Implement new features and enhance capabilities using modern Java frameworks.
Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and performance issues in development, test, and operational environments.
Create and maintain technical documentation and test procedures.
