Bestgate Engineering is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Telework Eligible) to join a team building and supporting tools that streamline enterprise development workflows. You will focus on Java-based software, automation, and integrations across the Atlassian ecosystem.

The role requires deep Linux experience, Spring, modern web tech, Docker, and Atlassian plugin development. TS/SCI w/Poly clearance is required for this position in the United States.

Qualifications

• 9 years of software engineering experience.
• Proficiency with the Linux CLI.
• Strong scripting with Bash, Python, and/or Groovy.
• Recent Java development experience in Linux environments.
• Experience with the Spring Framework.
• Experience with modern web technologies including JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Experience with Docker and containerization.
• Experience with Apache Velocity.
• Experience with OpenSearch.
• Experience with Atlassian Plugin SDK.
• Experience documenting configurations, procedures, and system changes.
• Bachelor’s degree or 4 years TE substitute.
• Required Security Clearance: TS/SCI w/Poly.
• Experience with Atlassian Jira/Confluence/Bitbucket/Bamboo.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles.
• Experience with automation tools such as Ansible.
• Experience with cloud technologies.
• Experience developing integrations and services that improve workflows.

Responsibilities

• Develop and support tools and services that enhance enterprise development workflows.
• Contribute to automation, integrations, and modernization across the Atlassian ecosystem.
• Collaborate with developers, system administrators, project managers, and mission customers.
• Tackle challenging technical problems and deliver efficient solutions.
