Job summary

Bestgate Engineering seeks a Senior Software Engineer (Telework Eligible) to develop Java-based software, automation, and integrations across the Atlassian ecosystem. You will collaborate with developers, system administrators, project managers, and mission customers to deliver modern, efficient solutions in a cloud-friendly environment.

The role emphasizes Linux-based development, scripting, and containerization with Docker, Velocity, and OpenSearch, while leveraging Jira, Confluence,

Qualifications

• 9 years of relevant software engineering experience.
• Proficiency with the Linux CLI.
• Strong scripting experience with Bash, Python, and/or Groovy.
• Recent Java software development experience in Linux environments.
• Experience with the Spring Framework.
• Experience with modern web technologies including JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Experience with Docker and containerization technologies.
• Experience with Apache Velocity.
• Experience with OpenSearch.
• Experience using the Atlassian Plugin SDK to create or extend Atlassian applications.
• Experience documenting configurations, procedures, and system changes.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Four (4) years of additional TE or related experience may be substituted for a Bachelor's degree.
• Required Security Clearance: TS/SCI w/Poly
