Job summary

Perrone Robotics is seeking Sr. Software Engineers to join our Charlottesville, VA team. The role reports to the Chief Technology Officer and contributes to embedded Java development for robotic systems.

Responsibilities include building Java-based software, applying OO design principles, and optimizing performance across multi-threaded components. Experience with UML, Maven/Ant, and version control is valued.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge, skill, and experience with programming in Java.
• Knowledge of Java SE libraries.
• Object-oriented Java programming skills.
• Skill in reuse of, extension of, and refactoring of software.
• Documentation and JavaDoc of code.
• Debugging and performance profiling skills.
• Multi-threaded programming.
• Know-how in extracting and deriving tasks and designs from communications.
• Design patterns and layered software design knowledge.
• Ability to work with reusable software frameworks.
