Bestgate Engineering, LLC is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Telework Eligible) to develop Java-based software in Linux environments and expand automation, integrations, and modernization across Atlassian tools. You will work with developers, admins, project managers, and mission customers to deliver robust software solutions.

The role emphasizes Spring, modern web tech, Docker, and OpenSearch, with a TS/SCI w/Poly clearance.

Qualifications

• 9 years of relevant Software Engineering experience.
• Proficiency with the Linux CLI.
• Scripting with Bash, Python, and/or Groovy.
• Recent Java software development experience in Linux environments.
• Experience with the Spring Framework.
• Experience with modern web technologies (JavaScript, HTML, CSS).
• Experience with Docker and containerization.
• Experience with Apache Velocity.
• Experience with OpenSearch.
• Experience using the Atlassian Plugin SDK to create or extend Atlassian applications.
• Experience documenting configurations, procedures, and system changes.
• Bachelor's degree or substitution as stated.

Responsibilities

• Develop Java-based software in Linux environments.
• Automate, integrate, and modernize tools within the Atlassian ecosystem.
• Collaborate with developers, system administrators, project managers, and mission customers.
• Contribute to backend and tooling supporting enterprise workflows.
