Job summary

Synechron is hiring a Java Software Engineer in Minneapolis to design, develop, and maintain APIs using core Java, Spring, and microservices. The role includes building cloud-native apps with Docker and deploying on OpenShift and AWS EKS, while collaborating with stakeholders across teams.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years of Java experience, strong OO fundamentals, and hands-on experience with UI frameworks (Angular/React) and Kafka. A BA/BS in CS or related field is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years in core Java development and OOP concepts.
• Experience with Angular or React.js UI frameworks.
• Strong Spring-boot, Microservices, Kafka background.
• Hands-on Docker/Kubernetes/OpenShift/AWS/EKS experience.
• ETL and Autosys experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop APIs with Java/Spring/Microservices.
• Implement OO concepts in development phase of application development.
• Write unit and integration tests (JUnit).
• Collaborate with stakeholders, design teams, downstream systems.

We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Java Software Engineer to join our development team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing code and ensure the quality and performance of software application.

Additional Information*

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors.

In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Minneapolis, MN is $100K to $120K/year & benefits (see below).

The Role:

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop APIs using core Java/Spring/Microservices Design Pattern and advance technologies.
• Implement OOPS concepts in development phase of application development.
• Develop application code, write unit tests and integration tests using Junit.
• Work closely with business stakeholders, Design teams and downstream systems.
• Build cloud-native applications using container technologies like Docker and deploy in OpenShift/AWS EKS
• Support the production release, monitoring and triaging issues on time

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Good years of IT work experience in frontend and backend frameworks.
• Proven experience with 10+ years in core Java development and implementing OOPS concepts.
• Good experience in leading the team and mentoring them.
• Experience working with Java (Data Structures, Collections, Multi-threading) , Oracle & Linux
• Good hands-on experience in core Java, Spring-boot, Microservices, Kafka.
• Good handson experience in UI frameworks Angular, React.Js.
• Good understanding and implementation of unstructured database.
• Writing extensive unit tests using automated TDD task. Creating E2E test suites for all components, and running them with Protractor (or a well-reasoned alternative).
• Conducts system-wide testing and some integration testing (Junit and cucumber)
• Preferred experience with Cloud and container technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, AWS, EKS
• Experience in ETL, Autosys
• Working experience of iterative and incremental development process.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills is key.

Preferred, but not required:

• Work experience in PCF, Google Cloud Platform is plus
• Experience in trading domain.
