Job summary
Peraton is seeking a Software Engineer in Annapolis, MD, to design, implement, test, and operate secure software systems. The role emphasizes advancing security practices, reducing vulnerabilities, and delivering reliable, scalable solutions.
The candidate should bring a strong Java background, experience with Linux/Kubernetes, and a current TS/SCI clearance. Open-source NoSQL exposure and RESTful service development are preferred. Cooperation and proactive learning are essential.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field; substitution allowed with additional SWE experience.
- Seven (7) years of SWE experience on similar programs.
- Six (6) years of Java development experience.
- Active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph required.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, test, and operate software with a focus on security.
- Perform security testing and code reviews to mitigate vulnerabilities.
- Debug and extend existing software and develop new solutions.
- Provide security-driven engineering recommendations and document designs.
- Contribute across all software layers and maintain technical docs.
- Collaborate to promote secure coding practices and knowledge sharing.
- Continuously learn new tools and technologies.
