Job summary

Jobgether seeks a Principal Engineer (Java/SAP) based in Spain to architect and deliver enterprise software integrating Java with SAP Ariba. You will lead the technical direction of a critical SAP Ariba integration, spanning platform configuration, backend engineering, and data services.

You will guide a small engineering team, define roadmaps, and ensure scalable, secure integrations while collaborating with product and client teams.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional Java development experience with Spring Boot.
• Deep SAP Ariba expertise: Ariba Developer Portal, OAuth, API keys/tokens, Supplier Data API, Cloud Integration Gateway.
• SAP Ariba SIM/SLP configuration: approvals, custom fields, risk modules.
• Backend integrations with APIs, event-driven architectures, orchestration patterns (e.g., AWS Step Functions), NoSQL databases like DynamoDB.
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA, SAP BTP, CAP, and UI5 is a plus.
• Security and performance optimization for third-party APIs; credential management.
• Ability to lead complex enterprise integrations and mentor engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead and architect Java/SAP Ariba integration solutions across backend enrichment, risk, and data services.
• Own the technical roadmap for SAP Ariba integrations, including configuration, workflows, and connector engineering.
• Provide leadership to a small engineering team maintaining the integration platform.
• Define architecture and programming patterns, infrastructure, and integration approaches.
• Mentor engineers, promote best practices, code reviews, and knowledge sharing.
• Collaborate with product and cross-functional teams to shape technical roadmaps.
• Adapt development practices, leverage AI-assisted tools to accelerate delivery.
• Oversee secure authentication, credential management, and reliable third-party integrations.
