Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is hiring a Principal Software Engineer - Java Middle Layer to join our software organization on-site in San Diego, CA. The role demands collaboration across teams and delivering enterprise Java solutions within an Agile framework.

The ideal candidate holds a STEM degree with several years of SDLC and Agile experience, and possesses strong Java, C, C++, and Python skills. A Top Secret clearance and SAP access readiness are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM field with 5 years of related engineering experience or Master’s Degree with 3 years of related engineering experience.
• Experience with the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Experience with Agile software development, software integration and testing.
• Experience with Java, C, C++ and Python.
• Experience with Jira, GitLab, Docker, Fortify, Coverity or Black Duck.
• Active U.S. Government Top Secret clearance (with background investigation within past 5 years or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation).
• Ability to obtain and maintain SAP access (PAR) prior to employment and during tenure.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate in an Agile software development environment with Systems Engineering and Cloud teams.
• Participate in the software development cycle including design, implementation and delivery.
• Develop Java Enterprise Edition (JEE) solutions in a SOA environment.
• Work across the software lifecycle in a process-oriented environment.
• Collaborate with team members regularly.
