Job summary

FormativGroup is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Java / Microservices) to design, build, and support scalable backend services and APIs, with a focus on reliable cloud-based deployments and end-to-end delivery across distributed systems.

You will work with cross-functional teams to deliver robust microservices and APIs, drive automation through modern DevOps practices, and ensure high performance and reliability.

Qualifications

• 8-10 yrs strong experience with Core and Advanced Java, including Java 1.8+
• 2 years Hands-on minimum experience with Python development
• Proven expertise in Spring Framework and Spring Boot
• Hands-on experience designing and working with microservices architectures
• Solid understanding of relational and non-relational databases (e.g., MySQL, MongoDB)
• Experience developing and integrating REST and SOAP services
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab)
• Exposure to event-driven architectures and tools such as Kafka
• Familiarity with front-end frameworks (nice to have)
• Strong foundation in software testing practices

Responsibilities

• Architect, develop, and maintain microservices using Java and Spring Boot frameworks
• Design and support RESTful and SOAP-based APIs for system integration
• Deploy and manage applications within cloud environments, ensuring performance, scalability, and uptime
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support continuous integration, testing, and deployment
• Partner with engineering, product, and front-end teams to deliver cohesive full-stack solutions
• Diagnose issues, perform debugging, and continuously improve system performance and reliability
