Job summary

Capgemini in New York is seeking a Senior Java AWS Engineer to design, develop and deploy scalable cloud-native applications on AWS using Java-based microservices. The role focuses on building secure, resilient systems for large-scale enterprise use with modern web front-end exposure.

The candidate will lead CI/CD pipelines, IaC (Terraform/CloudFormation), containerization, and Kubernetes deployments, while ensuring observability, security, and performance.

Qualifications

• 7-10+ years of hands-on Java development experience with Spring Boot and REST APIs.
• Strong expertise in AWS services (EC2, EKS, ECS, Lambda, API Gateway, S3, Aurora, DynamoDB, MSK, CloudWatch, IAM).
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, CloudFormation and modern DevOps practices.
• Proven ability to build large-scale enterprise applications with high availability, scalability, and performance.
• Knowledge of security, observability, and production resiliency in cloud environments.
• Experience with React and TypeScript is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and support scalable cloud-native apps using Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, and AWS.
• Build and maintain highly available, secure solutions leveraging AWS services.
• Develop modern web applications supporting 10,000+ concurrent users.
• Implement CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, containerization, and Kubernetes deployments.
• Improve reliability through monitoring, observability, and disaster recovery planning.
• Collaborate with architecture, engineering, and business teams on modernization initiatives.
