Job summary

EPAM Systems is seeking a Lead Java Developer (SAP BTP/CAP) to spearhead our SAP Business Network engineering efforts. You will translate complex roadmaps into modular designs and guide a team through ideation, design, prototyping, and delivery.

You will collaborate with the Team Architect and Product Manager, deliver high-impact services, and ensure quality through automated testing and robust DevOps practices.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong backend Java, REST/CXF, Spring Boot expertise.
• Hands-on SAP BTP/CAP with SAPUI5, OData, CAP CDS.
• Deep understanding of design patterns and enterprise architecture.
• Experience building web APIs with Swagger/REST/GraphQL.
• Knowledge of SAP HANA and other RDBMS; solid SQL skills.
• Proficient with GitHub, Jenkins, Selenium, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Puppet and Chef.
• Familiar with Confluence, Jira, JUnit, Karate, Postman, qTest, Selenium.
• Experience with AWS/GCP/Azure; OAuth 2.0/OpenID Connect/SAML.
• Excellent English (B2+).

Responsibilities

• Ensure on-time delivery of features aligned with specs and SAP standards.
• Drive backend development using Java, REST/CXF, Spring Boot, CAP, and SQL.
• Contribute to requirements reviews, design authoring and peer reviews.
• Implement automated unit tests and fully automated functional tests.
• Troubleshoot defects within defined SLAs.
