Job summary

Everforth Apex Systems seeks a Senior Java Developer in Seattle for a 12-month contract, hybrid work arrangement. The lead software engineer will collaborate with business lines and architects, oversee SDLC phases, and guide development across multiple applications and teams.

The role requires extensive Java/J2EE experience, Spring Boot, REST/SOAP services, Kafka, and Enterprise-grade tooling. Expect collaboration with distributed teams and architectural input.

Qualifications

• Over 10 years of hands-on Java/J2EE enterprise development experience.
• Strong OO design and Java programming skills.
• Experience building RESTful services with Spring Framework, Spring Boot, and SOAP Webservices.
• Experience with Apache Kafka for data publishing and consuming.
• JUnit tests, performance testing, and code analysis experience.
• Oracle SQL/PLSQL and NoSQL Cassandra experience.
• Proficient with Eclipse/IntelliJ, Maven, Git, Bitbucket, CI/CD, Splunk, and SOAP UI.
• Knowledge of design patterns and Agile/SDLC.
• Ability to coordinate with distributed teams and adapt to change.

Responsibilities

• Develops, enhances, tests, supports, maintains, and debugs software for business units.
• Serve as a senior member of the technical team and assist leadership.
• Provide strategic technical direction and system architecture for initiatives.
• Recommend innovations using deep knowledge of technology options and business needs.
• Estimate effort for software applications for one or more programmers.
• Coordinate with external teams to deliver on time and budget.
• Provide feedback to project managers on critical issues for objectives.
• Create prototypes to validate design concepts.
• Prepare UML diagrams of current and future state of applications.
