Job summary

NTT DATA Services in San Leandro, CA is seeking a Sr. Java Developer / Lead (Hybrid). You will design, develop, test and deploy RESTful APIs and microservices using Java/J2EE, Spring, and AWS EKS.

You will collaborate with front-end teams, integrate with external services, ensure best practices, and participate in TDD, CI/CD and QA activities. The role requires strong API design and cloud experience in a hybrid work setting.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of hands-on experience in RESTful APIs and Microservices with Java/J2EE, Spring, AWS EKS, RDS Oracle, Apigee/API Gateway.

Responsibilities

• Gather requirements with stakeholders.
• Develop, test and deploy APIs.
• Write tested, idiomatic, documented Java code.
• Integrate RESTful APIs with front-end.
• Communicate with external web services.
• Produce, maintain REST APIs with best practices.
• Fix issues or bugs that arise.
• API logging, testing, and Swagger/YAML docs experience.
• TDD with JUnit/Mockito; CI/CD
• End-to-end test frameworks: FitNesse, Protractor; functional testing with Cucumber.
• Develop and execute unit test scripts.
• Experience with SQL and stored procedures (RDS Oracle DB).
• Estimate user stories in backlog.
