Job summary

Laansu is seeking a Senior Software Developer to design, build, and support software for national road infrastructure in a role that impacts public safety. You will work on full-stack solutions using Java backend and Angular frontend, collaborating across teams in an agile environment.

The position requires strong experience in object-oriented Java, web apps, relational databases, and cloud deployments. A clearable Public Trust position is required and a hybrid/remote work setup is offered where

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS or related field.
• 5–10 years of software development experience.
• 5 years of object-oriented Java development.
• 5 years building web apps or APIs.
• 5 years designing relational databases (tables/views/procs).
• 3 years building rich UI with HTML/CSS/Bootstrap/Angular/jQuery/TypeScript.
• AWS cloud experience (ECS/RDS/KMS).
• Experience with an ORM tool (Entity Framework/JPA).
• Experience with Git or similar VCS.
• Hands-on full-stack work with Angular frontend and Java backend.

Responsibilities

• Receive tasks from program manager and estimate timelines.
• Follow agile sprint schedule and support testing.
• Peer-review colleagues’ work and provide feedback.
• Document design decisions and technical details.
• Maintain source code version control.
• Lead the team and mentor juniors; implement robust software.
• Manage evolving responsibilities and career growth.
