Apex Systems is seeking a Senior Java Full Stack Engineer to join our St. Louis team. The role is hybrid with four days onsite and potential remote consideration.

You will design and implement microservices using Java, Spring Boot, and TypeScript, and build cloud-native apps on AWS including ECS, EKS, Lambda, and RDS. Responsibilities include modernization, debt reduction, feature development, architecture collaboration, and robust test automation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in Java and Spring Boot ecosystem.
• Experience building solutions in AWS (ECS/EKS, Lambda).
• Front-end development with Angular and TypeScript.
• Microservices architecture and modernization of legacy apps.
• Strong writing, documentation, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain microservices in Java/Spring Boot and TypeScript.
• Build cloud-native apps in AWS (ECS/EKS, Lambda, RDS).
• Modernize codebase, address technical debt, and refactor as needed.
• Collaborate with architects and Scrum teams to translate vision into scalable solutions.
• Ensure test automation using UI testing and BDD approaches.
• Troubleshoot production issues and optimize performance.
