Job summary

JPMorganChase in New York is seeking a Software Engineer III to join a seasoned agile team. You will design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, scalable way, working across backend and frontend stacks including Java, Spring Boot, and TypeScript.

You will apply CI/CD, secure coding, and 12-factor app principles while leveraging AWS services and AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery and quality.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience.
• Backend experience Java 21, SpringBoot, Spring Cloud.
• Frontend experience with TypeScript, JavaScript.
• Implement micro-services architecture leveraging Spring Cloud for service discovery, configuration, and resilience.
• Implement and maintain AWS infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Lambda, S3, Kafka.
• Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages.
• Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools with ability to evaluate, validate, and refine AI outputs.
• Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure handling, resiliency and security expectations; guide peers on safe usage.
• Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle.
• Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.

Responsibilities

• Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or breakdown technical problems.
• Leverages enterprise-authorized AI coding assist tools to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity, while validating outputs through peer review, automated testing, and secure coding standards.
• Design, develop, and maintain backend services, agentic workflows using TypeScript and APIs using Java, and Spring Boot.
• Implement micro-services architecture leveraging Spring Cloud for service discovery, configuration, and resilience.
• Containerize and deploy applications on AWS using services such as ECS, EKS, Lambda, or EC2.
• Implement and maintain AWS infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Implements reactive programming paradigms for high-performance systems.
• Apply 12-factor app principles and best practices for cloud-native development.
• Design and execute performance and load tests using JMeter or Blazemeter.
• Applies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value realized by automation.
• Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while ensuring design constraints are met by software code development.
• Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems.
