Job summary

GDIT in Herndon, VA is hiring a senior data engineer for ETL, data transformation and analytics. You will design and maintain data pipelines, map data, and support complex data processing across multiple systems.

You will also troubleshoot issues, document findings and collaborate with engineers and external partners to drive improvements. The role requires 8+ years in data engineering, a engineering degree or equivalent experience, and TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of related data engineering and ETL experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field, or equivalent 5 years of job experience.
• Experience building and maintaining data flows with NiFi, Pentaho or Java.

Responsibilities

• Provide ETL, data mapping, analytics, and maintenance of data systems.
• Develop and manage complex data flows and pipelines.
• Troubleshoot ETL issues and support data processes for customers.
• Advise on hardware and software characteristics affecting software systems.
• Conduct investigations and tests of considerable complexity.
• Research emerging technologies for application execution impact.
• Communicate findings clearly to teammates and partners.
• Prepare written communications and project progress notes.
• Create and maintain technical documentation.
• Support hardware engineers on storage, speed, and I/O needs.
