Job summary

VTG Defense in Chantilly, VA is an on-site role seeking an experienced ETL Engineer to design, build, and maintain data pipelines for enterprise analytics. You will work with large data sets across sources, warehouse, and applications, delivering timely, high-quality data delivery.

The ideal candidate has 6–8 years in Linux, Python, SQL, and cloud experience in AWS/C2S, plus ETL tool expertise (Informatica, Talend, SSIS, Glue). An active TS/SCI with Poly is required on day one.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS / IS / Eng or equivalent experience.
• 6-8 years Linux experience with large-scale data processing.
• 6-8 years OO programming; Python preferred.
• 6-8 years in AWS/C2S environment; Azure/Google considered.
• 4-6 years ETL with large structured/unstructured data; experience with Informatica, Talend, SSIS, AWS Glue, or Azure Data Factory.
• Proficient in SQL with complex queries and optimization.
• 6-8 years AWS experience including EC2.
• Strong data warehousing, data modeling, and schema design knowledge.
• Hands-on scripting with Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• TS/SCI with poly required on day one.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines for data warehouse and analytics.
• Extract, transform, and load data from diverse sources into centralized storage.
• Enhance search and discovery across large data volumes.
• Ingest, ETL, and integrate data across multi-source environments.
• Optimize ETL workflows for performance and reliability.
• Perform data validation, profiling, and quality checks.
• Troubleshoot data issues and pipeline bottlenecks.
• Build cloud-native solutions on AWS and ensure secure architecture.
• Collaborate with mission operators and stakeholders to define requirements.
• Deliver analytics visuals and executive briefings.
• Provide technical leadership and code reviews.
