Job summary

Citi is seeking an Application Development Lead (Java) at Senior Vice President level to head the XiP Compute Service team. You will own the design, development, and evolution of the core compute engine that handles billions of calculations daily, coordinating hundreds of thousands of pods and thousands of compute nodes across private and public clouds.

You will drive technical strategy, mentor engineers, and collaborate with DevOps and customers to ensure secure, reliable, and scalable platform

Qualifications

• Graduate from a recognized University.
• 10+ years of professional software development experience with Java.
• Proven experience designing, building, and maintaining large-scale distributed systems.
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
• Experience with RESTful API design and implementation.
• Strong OOP and design patterns knowledge.
• Leadership experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Experience with unit/integration testing and test automation.

Responsibilities

• Define long-term strategic direction of the XiP Platform and its compute engine.
• Lead Agile/Scrum ceremonies and manage the development backlog and roadmap.
• Mentor engineers, allocate tasks, and foster a collaborative, growth-focused team environment.
• Oversee design and implementation changes to Citi's Risk Calculation Engine for better distribution and scalability.
• Coordinate strategic changes to reach future scaling milestones and align with customer needs.
