Tata Consultancy Services in Chicago is seeking a senior Java developer with strong Spring Boot experience to design, deploy, and support large-scale distributed applications in a production environment. The role emphasizes end-to-end delivery ownership, agile practices, and collaboration with offshore/onshore teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

Weekend production calls may be required.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of Java and Spring Boot
• Experience with Java/J2EE, EJBs, Spring MVC, Hibernate, RESTful services, JMS; Kafka/Elasticsearch integration
• ReactJS SPA development experience
• Willingness to work in a support project and extend hours for weekend production calls
• Strong coding skills to clear coding challenges
• AWS and AI knowledge preferred
• Experience with development, deployment, and support of large-scale distributed applications in production
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and Test Driven Development
• Create automated unit tests for existing code and new projects

Responsibilities

• Strong knowledge of Java and Spring Boot

• Identify solution requirements and scenarios for future solution in collaboration with business
• Support weekend production calls as needed
• Deliver end-to-end architecture with deployment strategy
• Coordinate with offshore and onshore teams to deliver solutions
• Take end-to-end delivery ownership
• Translate business requirements into technical requirements
• Apply Agile methodologies and TDD
• Create automated unit tests for existing and new projects
• Design and maintain scalable, mission-critical distributed applications
