Job summary
GEICO is looking for a Senior Java Engineer to design and build scalable, resilient distributed systems across front-end to back-end. You will help transform our IT into a high-performance tech organization while promoting engineering excellence and psychological safety.
The role requires strong experience with Java and cloud platforms, a proactive mindset, and the ability to mentor peers in a fast-moving environment.
Qualifications
- Advanced programming in Java, C++, Python or C# with OO design.
- Proven understanding of micro-services architecture and REST APIs.
- Experience designing architecture, patterns, reliability, and scaling for new/current systems.
- DevOps concepts and cloud architecture expertise.
- Experience with CI/CD and infrastructure as code.
- Strong problem-solving abilities in fast-paced settings.
Responsibilities
- Scope, design, and build scalable, resilient distributed systems.
- Drive product definition and select optimal technical solutions.
- Collaborate across teams through the entire software lifecycle.
- Lead design sessions and code reviews to elevate engineering quality.
- Create reusable components from business and tech perspectives.
- Mentor other engineers and share best practices across teams.
