Job summary

Barclays in New Jersey is seeking an experienced software professional to design, develop, and improve backend systems for the Equities Electronic Trading platform. You will contribute to the full software development life cycle, gather requirements, and deliver scalable server-side Java components.

As an Assistant Vice President-level contributor, you will mentor colleagues, conduct code reviews, and help set technical direction while adhering to secure coding practices.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in full SDLC for financial applications.
• Ability to gather requirements and design scalable components.
• Mentor junior engineers and participate in code reviews.
• Knowledge of secure coding practices.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the full SDLC of financial applications.
• Gather and analyze business requirements and design components.
• Implement software changes through third line support.
• Architect, design, build out and integrate Portal applications for the Equities Electronic Trading business.
• Produce high quality server-side Java code with minimal direction.
• Support other members of the development team as senior member of the team and provide guidance and subject matter expertise as necessary.
• May telecommute pursuant to company policies. [Hybrid role]
