Job summary

SME Careers, an AI data services company and subsidiary of SuperAnnotate, is building a pool of Senior Java Engineers for hourly, remote contract work. You will review AI-generated Java code, architectural solutions and technical explanations, and write high-quality reference implementations and reasoning steps.

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in CS/SE, 5+ years of Java experience, strong Java core knowledge, Spring Boot, REST APIs, microservices, and distributed systems design.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field
• 5+ years of professional software engineering with significant hands-on Java on production systems
• deep understanding of core Java, concurrency primitives and the Collections Framework
• extensive Spring or Spring Boot, REST API and microservices experience
• strong system design and performance optimization in distributed Java systems
• C1 English or higher
• comfort with Git, CI/CD, automated testing and containers
• experience giving structured code reviews. Prior AI data training or annotation experience is a strong plus

Responsibilities

• Review AI-generated Java code, architectural solutions and technical explanations
• Write high-quality reference implementations and reasoning steps
• Assess solutions for accuracy, clarity and adherence to the prompt; identify errors in logic, performance or design
• fact-check technical information; write model solutions demonstrating correct methods
• rate and compare multiple AI responses on correctness and reasoning quality
