Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related technical field, or a foreign equivalent.
• At least 7 years of professional experience as a Java developer.
• At least 6 years of experience in Java enterprise software development.
• At least 5 years of experience with Java memory and performance tuning, including lambdas, generics, and data structures (maps, lists, sets).
• At least 5 years of experience applying common software design patterns and high-throughput algorithm design.
• At least 4 years of experience with concurrent programming (Actor Model, Java CompletableFuture, thread-pool executors).
• At least 4 years of experience with Hibernate or JPA, including query optimization.
• At least 4 years of experience with relational databases (MySQL, Oracle, DB2, MS SQL Server) and NoSQL (Cassandra, MongoDB).
• At least 2 years of experience ensuring software development compliance.
• Remote work permitted within Texas, with Austin as the listed job site.
• No travel required.

Responsibilities

• Drive the software development lifecycle, including defining sprint goals, maintaining operational stability, and leading product launches.
• Provide technical leadership, mentor fellow engineers, and strengthen the team's capabilities.
• Collaborate with product managers, software architects, and stakeholders to meet priorities and regulatory requirements.
• Document architectural designs, create developer guides, and facilitate knowledge transfer through documentation.
• Optimize performance and reliability for high-throughput, real-time transaction systems.
• Promote secure, compliant software development practices throughout the engineering lifecycle.
• Design, develop, test, and review code to ensure accuracy, performance, and security.
