Job summary

Forbes Technical Consulting LLC is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to help drive a cloud-based, scalable architecture for our instrument management, settlements engine, and clearing systems.

You will work closely with Staff Engineers on architectural decisions, taking ownership of key components and delivering production-quality code with high throughput and low latency in a financial markets environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, building high-performance distributed systems.
• Proficiency in Java, including concurrency, memory management and performance optimization.
• Experience with REST and WebSocket APIs; FIX protocol knowledge is a plus.
• Experience with scalable, HA systems handling high throughput and low latency.
• Experience with micro-services, Kafka and relational databases (PostgreSQL).
• Experience in derivative contracts and financial markets is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop cloud-based scalable architecture powering instrument management, settlements engine and clearing systems.
• Collaborate with Staff Engineers on architectural decisions and own significant components.
