Barclays is recruiting a Senior Java Engineer - AVP to drive scalable, high-performance technology solutions powering banking services. You will work with global teams on complex engineering tasks, influence platform direction, and contribute to pivotal projects across the organization.
Ideal candidates bring extensive Java experience (Spring/Spring Boot), Agile delivery, Kafka expertise, and strong CI/CD with GitLab and Docker-based deployments. Location: Whippany, NJ.
To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues.

To be successful as a Senior Java Engineer – AVP, you should have:
Considerable Java programming experience, including Spring and Spring Boot
Experience working within Agile delivery methodologies
Knowledge in Kafka architecture, including cluster design, performance tuning, and security
Demonstrated experience with Kafka Streams and/or Flink to build end-to-end real-time data pipelines
Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitLab, including containerization and Docker-based deployments
Other highly valued skills include:
Proficiency in PostgreSQL
Capability in with React
Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
Knowledge and hands on experience with Databricks

This role is located in Whippany, NJ office.
