Job summary

AltexSoft is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Java) with deep airline PSS domain expertise to develop a cloud-native platform for airline retailing. You will work across reservations, ticketing, inventory, schedules and distribution, bridging legacy PSS with modern Offer/Order models.

In this role you design and own scalable Java microservices, collaborate with Product Managers and Architects, and improve performance and reliability of existing services.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional experience with Java and Spring Boot.
• Strong experience building and integrating REST APIs.
• Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms; AWS preferred.
• Solid fundamentals, clean code and automated testing.
• Experience with relational DBs, particularly MySQL; NoSQL like DynamoDB a plus.
• Airline PSS domain experience is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with Reservations (PNRs), EoT, Ticketing (E-Tickets/EMDs), and Scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and evolve Java-based microservices using Spring Boot.
• Build and integrate REST APIs and cloud-native services.
• Work on core airline PSS capabilities across reservations, ticketing, inventory, schedules and distribution.
• Bridge legacy PSS with modern Offer/Order retailing architectures.
• Ensure high availability, scalability, performance and transactional integrity.
• Collaborate with Product Managers and Architects to translate requirements into solutions.
• Improve existing services for performance and reliability.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and best practices.
• Write clean, well-tested code and embrace AI-assisted development.
