Cognizant’s Digital Engineering practice is seeking a highly qualified Senior Java Developer with React experience for developing high-performing, scalable enterprise applications. You will be part of a digital software team working on high-demand applications, emphasizing high-quality, reliable, and maintainable code. Collaboration with product managers, designers, and clients is essential to deliver valuable software quickly. Location: Charlotte, NC

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship, now or in the future. Cognizant will not sponsor H-1B or other U.S. work visas for this role.

Responsibilities:

• Work from the client office at least 3 days a week.
• Proficiency in Java 17, REST API development, backend logic (batch jobs/Kafka processors) using Spring Boot.
• Hands-on experience with React is preferred.
• Exposure to non-relational databases like MongoDB.
• Must have hands-on experience with Kafka.
• Experience with CI/CD DevOps tools such as GitHub, Jenkins, UrbanCode Deploy, or Harness.
• Ability to work as an individual contributor.
• Exposure to microservice architectures.
• Strong analytical skills, debugging abilities, and understanding of core concepts.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum 7+ years of experience as a Spring Boot Java React microservice developer.
• Hands-on knowledge of Kafka and MongoDB is mandatory.
• Familiarity with Agile, Jira, and Scrum methodologies.
• Basic experience in banking and financial domains.
• Experience across all project phases: requirement gathering, analysis, design, testing, and support.
