Optomi, in partnership with a top Detroit client, is seeking a talented Java Developer to assist in a legacy migration, primarily using Java/J2EE and AWS. The ideal candidate will be able to work on a W2 without sponsorship, enjoy a collaborative office environment, and join a long-term contract (2+ years) with a 3-day hybrid schedule. Key skills include JSP, servlets, CI/CD (Git/Jenkins), Tomcat/WebLogic/JBoss, Core Java concurrency, PL/SQL, Unix shell, and AWS modules such as IAM.
Qualifications
Extensive hands-on development with Java/J2EE apps (JSP, servlets, controllers).
Proficient in writing complex PL/SQL: procedures, functions, packages, triggers.
DB design, normalization, and performance tuning.
Unix shell scripting, log analysis, and performance monitoring.
Experience with CI/CD (Git, Jenkins) and deployments on Tomcat/WebLogic/JBoss.
Strong Core Java concepts and thread-safe coding practices.
Familiar with Terraform, IAM, and AWS modules.
JWT/OAuth2/OKTA authentication knowledge.
Responsibilities
Support legacy migration efforts in a Java/J2EE/AWS environment.
Maintain and troubleshoot legacy applications with Unix commands and monitoring tools.
Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and deployments on application servers.
