Job summary

ZealHire Inc. is seeking a hands-on Senior Java Developer to support the New York State Department of Labor UISIm project. The role requires strong Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, Microservices, REST/SOAP, Hibernate/JPA, SQL, and cloud experience in an Agile setting.

You will lead technical design, mentor junior developers, and deliver enterprise applications with robust documentation and testing. 50% onsite in Albany, NY, and 50% remote work are expected under a long-term contract.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Java/J2EE development with SOA, Microservices and Agile.
• 5+ years of SQL development with relational DBs and Hibernate/JPA.
• 3+ years Spring Boot development.
• 3+ years JavaScript/JSF development.
• 2+ years Cloud platforms, preferably GCP.
• 3+ years GitHub/GitLab for source control.
• 5+ years UML diagrams and solution design.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise apps using Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, SOA and Microservices.
• Develop RESTful and SOAP services across applications.
• Build frontend apps with Angular/JSF and JavaScript.
• Write complex SQL/PLSQL for Oracle/DB2; optimize transactions.
• Deploy applications in cloud environments (GCP) and troubleshoot.
• Lead design discussions, conduct code reviews, mentor teams.
• Create UML/sequence/activity diagrams and technical docs.
• Perform unit/integration/performance testing with JMeter.
