Job summary

Diverse Agile Solutions in Albany, NY, seeks an Expert Programmer (Java) to provide technical leadership for the UI Job Assist Tool, linking New York State’s UI system with an AI-enabled job assistance tool via secure APIs and MCP services.

The role focuses on backend development, API architecture, vendor integration, security, and performance, with collaboration across security, infrastructure, data, and cloud teams in a hybrid Albany-based setting.

Qualifications

• 84+ months of experience leading large teams or equivalent industry experience.
• 96 months of enterprise backend software development and API architecture experience.
• 24 months integrating enterprise applications with AI-enabled services or AI platforms.

Responsibilities

• Build REST endpoints and optimize database queries with the Data Architect.
• Design and review Java microservices and APIs connecting core UI system and AI Job Assist Tool.
• Review vendor API specifications and data schemas for approval before development.
• Serve as technical liaison among vendor AI team, NYSDOL SMEs, and ITS security and infrastructure teams.
• Establish coding standards, branching strategies, and conduct security-focused code reviews.
• Design end-to-end integration across REST APIs, MCP server, and the UI system of record.
• Collaborate with GCP Cloud Engineering on secure egress proxies, VPC Service Controls, GKE, Pub/Sub, IAM.
• Design validation controls to prevent unapproved AI data from being written back to UI system.
• Develop load-testing strategies for ~1,500 concurrent users and document-heavy workloads.
• Integrate AI capabilities and MCP with enterprise Java and microservice solutions.
• Maintain technical documentation and mentor State staff.
