Job summary

The Matlen Silver Group, Inc. is seeking a Senior Java Developer (JC & NYC) to join our front-office facing team in New Jersey, with hybrid work possibilities.

The role emphasizes real-time order execution, low-latency systems, and close collaboration with Traders. Ideal candidates have 5–7 years of Core Java experience (Java 8+), strong multi-threading skills, and familiarity with modern DevOps practices, including CI/CD and automated testing.

Qualifications

• Five to seven years of hands-on core Java experience.
• Core Java 8 or higher programming language experience is a must-have.
• Experience in a front-office facing role, interacting with Traders.
• Experience with agile and modern software development/DevOps practices.
• Ability to describe previous projects they've participated in using iterative development, CI/CD, automated testing and why those disciplines are useful and important.
• Desire and a positive attitude to work in a front-office development and to respond to production situations promptly.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain real-time order execution frameworks and services.
• Refactor existing code and address performance or design issues.
• Design extensible modules with clean, testable, maintainable code.
• Ensure integration with market venue APIs like Bloomberg, CME, Nasdaq.
• Work in a collaborative, hybrid team with Traders and Front Office.
• Participate in iterative development, CI/CD, and automated testing to improve deployment.
