Job summary

emerchantpay Ltd is seeking an experienced Java developer to modernize payment-processing products. You will build and scale highly available services, using AI coding agents as part of daily workflows while ensuring security and reliability.

Responsibilities include designing complex workflows, implementing APIs, and performing TDD. You will work with modern AI tooling and integrations, contributing to MCP server configurations and maintaining PCI DSS standards.

Qualifications

• 9-10+ years using core Java and/or J2EE, Spring.
• Knowledge in ORM solutions, e.g. Hibernate.
• Database experience with open-source databases like MySQL and/or PostgreSQL.
• Experience in JavaScript and decent front-end skills.
• Comfortable with TDD/BDD practices, JUnit, etc.
• Hands-on experience with AI coding assistants or agentic tools, including writing effective prompts and specs.

Responsibilities

• Designing and implementing complex workflows, APIs, and UI backends for payment platforms.
• Performing TDD using tools like JUnit and related frameworks.
• Scale highly available payment services (99.99%+ uptime).
• Using AI coding assistants and agents for implementation, refactoring, test generation, code review and legacy exploration, ensuring code quality.
• Contributing to the team’s AI tooling like agent skills and MCP server configurations for consistency.
• Applying secure AI practices in PCI DSS environments to protect cardholder data.
