About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Java Developer to join our dynamic team at Version 1. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance Java applications that support our clients' digital initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Java development, extensive experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), and expertise in database management. A background in batch processing is preferred, as you will be instrumental in developing systems that handle large volumes of data efficiently. Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field. You should have a proven track record of at least 7+ years working as a Java Developer, with significant experience in product development or service environments. Hands-on experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, Step Functions, and EventBridge is essential, with a minimum of 3+ years of relevant experience. You must also have at least 5+ years of experience working with relational databases like Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL, including writing complex SQL queries and troubleshooting performance issues. Proficiency in Java, Spring Framework, Hibernate, and RESTful API development is required. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to work effectively within a team.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Java Developer at Version 1, your responsibilities will include designing and developing robust, scalable, and efficient Java applications that meet business requirements. You will utilize AWS services to build and deploy cloud-based solutions, ensuring high availability and scalability. Designing, implementing, and maintaining database schemas, along with optimizing database performance through complex SQL queries, will be a key part of your role.
