Job summary

Toyota Financial Services Enterprise Platforms team seeks a Senior Software Engineer to build and operate the enterprise platform. You will work with product owners to translate requirements into robust, scalable cloud-native services that empower millions of users.

You will collaborate with Agile teams, design resilient microservices on AWS, and mentor peers while staying current with tech trends. Plano, TX-based role requiring commuting distance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a technical field with 5+ years of experience.
• Proven programming skills in Java, Spring Boot, Node.js, ReactJS, TypeScript or Python.
• Strong experience delivering Kubernetes-based microservices on AWS in regulated environments.
• Excellent collaboration, leadership and communication skills.
• Proficient in writing high-quality, reusable code with TDD and OO design.
• Strong REST API development and observable distributed systems.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions in full-stack development tools and technologies.
• Maintain operational excellence on deliveries, building fault-tolerant and secure services.
• Mentor other engineering team members and promote Agile best practices.
• Collaborate with Product Owners to deliver robust cloud-based solutions for financial empowerment.
• Utilize languages like JavaScript, Python, Java, Spring Boot, TypeScript, and SQL.
• Design and deliver solutions using RDBMS/NoSQL, Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS services.
• Build event-driven architectures for asynchronous inter-system communication.
• Contribute to recruiting, mentorship, and engineering culture.

Along with willingness to take an active role in their career trajectory; the Senior Java Developer tasked with working with product owners to understand business requirements, integrating architectural direction into designs and producing comprehensive functional/technical code for platforms and applications.

• Experience with designing and building event driven systems for asynchronous communication between systems and components
• Contribute to team development including recruiting efforts, mentorship, and promoting Agile best practices.

What you bring

• Bachelor’s degree or higher with5or more years of experienceintechnicaldiscipline, including computer science, computer engineering, information systems, and information technology.
• Intermediate to advanced programming skills in one or more modern languages such asJava, Spring Boot,Nodejs, ReactJS, TypeScript, Java or Python to design, develop andmaintaincustomer experienceson AWS cloud platform.
• Proventrack recorddelivering Kubernetes-based microservices on AWS in a regulated or compliance-sensitive environment.
• Strong interpersonal, leadership and communication skills
• Skilled at delivering high-quality, clean, and reusable code using Test-Driven Development (TDD), object-oriented design, and testing for responsive web applications.
• Strongproficiencyin developing scalable and resilient RESTmicroservicesAPIs.
• Experience building software using design patterns, best practices, and coding standards.
• Demonstrated experience with version control practices, including branching, merging, and code review processes.
• Experience building observable systems to track the performance of distributed services, trace issues, and troubleshoot failures.
• Conduct peer/codereviewstomaintainthe codequality beforepromoting the code to production.
