Job summary

Apexon is seeking a Senior Java Developer in Mechanicsburg, PA to design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Core Java, Spring Boot, and microservices.

You will develop and consume REST APIs, optimize SQL queries and stored procedures, and collaborate with QA, analysts and stakeholders in an Agile environment.

Experience with Microsoft Azure is preferred as you contribute to cloud-based enterprise solutions, working with cross-functional teams to deliver robust software.

Qualifications

• 7–8+ years of professional Java development experience.
• Strong experience with Java, Spring boot and microservices.
• Proficient in designing RESTful APIs and SQL/Stored Procedures.

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Java Developer with strong hands on experience in Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, REST APIs, SQL, and Stored Procedures. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in enterprise application development and Agile environments, with the ability to design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications.

The candidate will work with modern Java and Spring technologies to develop microservices and REST APIs while supporting database development and integration. Experience with Microsoft Azure is preferred.

Required Skills

• Minimum 7 to 8 years of professional experience in Java development
• Strong hands on experience with Core Java
• Strong experience with Spring and Spring Boot
• Hands on experience with Microservices architecture
• Strong experience developing and consuming REST APIs
• Hands on experience with Stored Procedures
• Strong understanding of backend application development and software engineering principles
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative development environment

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise scale Java applications
• Develop robust backend solutions using Core Java, Spring, and Spring Boot

• Troubleshoot application, integration, and database related issues
• Participate in code reviews and technical design discussions
• Collaborate with developers, business analysts, QA teams, and other project stakeholders
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily standups, reviews, and retrospectives
• Develop unit and integration tests to ensure application quality and reliability
• Support application deployment and troubleshooting across development and production environments
• Leverage Microsoft Azure services and cloud technologies where applicable
• Follow established software development standards, coding practices, and Agile methodologies
• Contribute to application performance, scalability, maintainability, and reliability

Education Requirement

• Relevant education in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field is preferred.
